His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces on Wednesday visited the Army Headquarters where he met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. General Mishal Mohammad Al Zaben.
During the meeting, the King and Al Zaben discussed a number of issues of concern to the armed forces.The King also met with a number of retired personnel and old veterans and discussed a host of issues concerning the homeland and citizens. During the meeting, which was attended by Army Chief and HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, the King said all citizens should contribute to forming a comprehensive reform programs and addressing all national issues. He underscored the pivotal role of the military retirees and old veterans in enhancing the homeland's achievements and developmental march, serving the national interests and aspirations. The King valued expertise the retired personnel have in various domains. A number of retirees said they would always remain loyal to the Hashemite leadership, underlining the importance of safeguarding the homeland's achievements in all domains. They expressed keenness to contribute to the development march, led by the King. During the meeting, which is part of a series of meetings the King had started with different personalities and national figures, King Abdullah listened to a number of demands by the retired military personnel, which included better living conditions and more jobs in the private sector.
